Last week, the Afe Babalola University Alumni Association accused Peruzzi, one of Davido Music Worldwide Signees, of collecting N600,000 from the association to perform at their show, but failed to turn up.
However, according to reports, Peruzzi’s manager, who identified himself as Saheed, said that the ex students were to blame because they didn’t follow the due steps.
“They paid Peruzzi N600,000 through his producer, Fresh VDM, and Peruzzi confirmed that he would be available on that date. When you pay an artist to come for your show and he agrees, you have to make arrangements on how the artist would get to the school.
“All through that day, Peruzzi was expecting to hear from them, but they did not get across to him through his management or any other way. The next thing we saw was that they had put a story on the Internet, accusing him of not attending the show,” the manager stated.
Saheed added by saying that, “This is not the first time we have been doing shows in the school; so, they were aware of the procedure to follow. If you ask any student, they would tell you that after payment, they would reach an agreement as regards logistics. As long as the artiste is not based where the school is, that is the right thing they should have done.
“Our lawyer has replied them already and he is in the process of returning their money. They will get their money back.”
