
Prof. Ibrahim Garba, Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has been nominated as the Vice Chancellor of the year 2018 due to his serene and pace-setting achievements within four years of administering the institution.
This was disclosed by the management of Education Monitor newspaper in a statement signed by its administrative manager, Samuel Yusuf.
According to Yusuf, the nomination goes with a presentation of a merit plaque in Abuja in an event to be attended by critical stakeholders in the education sector across the country.
“Our research unit is saddled with this responsibility has conducted independent research and interviews with staff, students and members of institutions’ host communities on the positive impacts and general achievement of heads of some tertiary institutions across the country,” he stated.
He added by saying that the ABU VC emerged winner having scored 75 per cent from a tradition of assessment of positive impacts and ‘A’ performance of chief executives of tertiary institutions and education agencies within the country and oversees.
He said the assessment was for VCs, Rectors and Provosts of both public and private tertiary institutions.
