According to one of the officials of the West Africa University Games (WAUG), 60 Universities have registered for the games competition which is to be hosted by the University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT).
This info was let out by Reginald Ogali, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the games.
According to Premium Times, the LOC Chairman told pressmen on Monday in Port-Harcourt that 85 universities are expected to register for the sporting event slated for October 31 to November 12, 2018.
“Participants at the event will compete in 15 different sports which are; swimming, judo, tennis, badminton, table tennis, squash, chess, football, javelin, volleyball, handball, basketball, hockey and cricket.
“Hockey is the only event that will hold at the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium in Igwuruta, Port-Harcourt.
“Participants are expected to arrive on the 31st of October for the opening ceremony billed for November 3 at the Sports Center, University Park,” LOC Chairman stated.
