The Barau Diko Teaching Hospital of Kaduna State University (KASU) has installed a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine for the diagnoses of all kinds of diseases.

Dr. Tokan Baduku, the hospital’s Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Thursday.

Dr. Badaku explained that the equipment, which was installed last Friday, was procured with support from Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s Special Intervention Project at the cost of N149.9 million and described the MRI as a type of scan machine that used strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the human body.

Badaku also said that the machine can scan any part of the body to enable a doctor to diagnose many illnesses and treat patients better, particularly in the area of surgery where the machine shows the doctor precisely where to go.
