UNIBEN: 134 Graduates Bag First Class

One hundred and thirty-four graduates of the University of Benin, have been awarded with First Class degree in the 2017/2018 academic session.
According to Daily Trust Newspaper, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Faraday Orumwese, made this known in Benin on Wednesday during the press briefing of the 44th convocation/48th Founder’s Day lecture ceremonies of the university.
The VC explained that a total of 8,276 students graduated from the institution in the 2017/18 academic session but 134 of them graduated with first class, 2,122 graduated with second class upper, 4,864 graduated with second class lower, 1,156 graduated with third class while one gradated with a pass.
Prof. Orumwense also disclosed that the Archbishop of Church of God Mission International and Chancellor, Benson Idahosa, will be conferred with honorary degree for his outstanding contributions to education and human capital development in Nigeria.
