The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in collaboration with the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has called for new applications from candidates who are qualified and suitable for admission into NILDS/UNIBEN Postgraduate School.
According to THISDAY, the information was contained in a statement made by Prof. Ladi Hamalai, Director General of NILDS.
Hamalai listed the various Masters Degree programs available for the next academic session which include; Masters in Parliamentary Administration, Masters in Legislative Studies, Masters in Legislative Drafting, Masters in Elections and Party Politics, Diploma in Election and Political Party Management and Diploma in Legislative Drafting.
Hamalai stated qualifications for Masters Degree in Parliamentary Administration, Legislative Studies and Elections and Party Politics include 5 credit passes at the ordinary level including English language.
The Prof said “a prospective applicant for Masters Degree in Parliamentary Administration and Masters Degree in Legislative Studies must hold Bachelor Degrees with minimum of second class lower division in relevant areas from recognized universities.
“Applicants for Masters Degree in Elections and Party Politics must hold Postgraduate diplomas in relevant areas from recognized institutions with at least sixty percent cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
“Applicants for Masters Degree in Legislative Drafting must in addition to possessing the ordinary level requirements must hold a Bachelors Degree in Law with a minimum of second class lower division from recognized universities.
“The duration for all full time Masters Degree programs is a minimum of four semesters, the duration for full time Postgraduate diploma programs is a minimum of two semesters,” the Director General added.
