
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Isa Ali Pantami has stated that the University of Jos (UNILOS) requires a standard virtual library.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Pantami who is also the Chief Information Technology Officer of Nigeria made this known during a working visit by the authorities of UNIJOS to the Agency’s head office in FCT Abuja.
“The population of students and lecturers at the University of Jos, makes it very necessary for the institution to require a virtual library in order to enhance research and learning, as physical books may be insufficient,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor of UNIJOS, Prof. Seddi Sebastian Maimako and the management of the institution had sought NITDA’s intervention in enhancing research and learning in the university. They solicited for the deployment of the virtual Library in the school.
