The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has received commendation from the Kano Renaissance Group after awarding Gombe State Governor, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo as the best Governor in Nigeria, Daily Independent Newspaper report.
In an email address by the group, obtained by the newspaper, the group congratulated Dankwanbo also known as the Talban Gombe, a part of the statement signed by the groups Acting President, Alhaji Sagir Isa, states that “of all the governors in Nigeria, only Dankwambo has in truth unified his diverse people of Gombe, making them appreciate their heterogeneous composition, and reaping bountifully from it.”
It further pointed out that “what Nigeria needs is a reformer, someone that could unify its diverse people and take the country off the edge of precipice that incompetence has pushed it into, not so-called integrity that has led us nowhere.”
The Kano Renaissance group is known to be a powerful group in Kano state intervening in social and political issues; the group was among the those urging an end to the feud between the former Kano state Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the incumbent Governor, Ganduje.
