The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has denied awarding Emeka Okonkwo popularly known as E-money with an honorary doctorate degree in Business Management and Corporate Governance.
This came after it was alleged that E-money received the award from the institution on Tuesday alongside the incoming Deputy Governor of Lagos State’s father, Olatunji Hamzat.
But according to E-money on his post on INSTAGRAM, he said the award was given to him by the European-American University in an event that was held in UNILAG, he never mentioned receiving the award from the institution.
“God be the glory, I have just received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Management and Corporate Governance from the European-American University at an event that held inside the University of Lagos,” E-money posted.
“I am joined here by the incoming Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat whose father, Olatunji Hamzat also bagged a Doctorate Degree,” he added.
However, UNILAG in a statement issued by its Principal Assistant Registrar, Communication Unit for Management, Taiwo Oloyede named the personalities the school awarded the degrees which excluded E-money’s name.
