The management of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), University of Lagos (UNILAG) branch has inaugurated new executives for the faith-based society for the 2018/19 academic session.
The newly elected executive led by Hassan Salahudeen (President) was formally unveiled at a ceremony which was well attended by the representatives of the university management, the MSSN Lagos state area unit, previous executives of the branch and students of the institution.
Salaudeen, 500L System Engineering student and his fifteen-man executive committee will paddle the affairs of the Muslim students’ body for next academic year.
The Muslim community led by Prof. Lai Olurode, has also appointed Dr. Ismail Musa of the Islamic Studies (Education) Department as the Chief Imam of the university.
According to reports, the newly appointed Chief Imam has been installed and presented with his staff of office immediately after Friday’s Jumat service at about 3pm on the 15th of March, 2019.
Dr. Wale Babalakin, Chairman, Governing Council of UNILAG was the Chairman of the colorful event and Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Vice Chancellor of the university was the Special Guest of Honor.
