Reports reveals that hosting of the 26th Nigeria Universities Games Associations Competition is the first step towards achieving sporting excellence at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), as the institution’s sports heads have packaged a program for the future.

This information was let out of the bag by the Chairman, UNILAG, Sports Board, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo.

Oyewo said that the coming competition is part of UNILAG’s efforts at setting the stage for involvement in more sporting activities and positioning itself with a planned construction of an Olympic size swimming pool.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) top shots are looking beyond hosting this year’s NUGA competition to entrench the institution as a new sports hub in the country, as they believe long-term projects will entrench the expected status for them.
