UNILAG Set To Hold Largest Students’ Investment Conference In Sub-Saharan Africa


The Investment Society, University of Lagos (UNILAG), a multi-disciplinary diverse student organisation will on the 2nd of September, 2019, hold their annual students’ investment conference titled ‘The Colloquium’ at the J.F AdeAjayi Auditorium, UNILAG.


The Student Organisation thrives on knowledge and aims to provide members with the strong foundation necessary to launch a successful career in finance and investment through sponsor-led workshops, intensive training programmes, stock pitches, business case competitions, networking sessions, and on-campus recruiting events while also working hard to achieve excellent academic results.


According to reports, the conference will bring together selected 1000 delegates from finance and investment clubs across nine universities in Nigeria alongside professionals, seasoned CEOs and leaders from different works of life.

The polity, Economy, Academia, Corporates Organisations and the Media are to discuss on the theme ‘Driving Investment in Africa through Innovation and Leadership’.


Notable speakers will include, Patrick Akinwuntan, CEO of Ecobank; Mobolaji Balogun, CEO of Chapel Hill Denham; Abu Jimoh, CEO of Coronation Merchant Bank; Yemi Faseun, Head, HR, FBNQuest and Chude Jideonwo, Founder of Joy Inc,among others.


The speakers will discuss diverse topics ranging from Infrastructural Developments, Diversity and Talents to the emerging tech landscape.


According to the organising students, the conference is sponsored by Ecobank Nigeria, Chapel Hill, Coronation Merchant Bank, CFA Society, Thomas Reuters, FMDQ, ARM Pensions, Luno, Jobberman, BusinessDay, Nairametrics, Fundall, among others.
