The hike in some charges by the management of the University of Ilorin has generated several reactions, mostly from the students of the institution.
Seyi Animasaun, President of the Student Union Government has claimed that the increase in fees will not stand.
“This is rather unexpected, shocking and challenging. This cannot stand. I have called an emergency meeting with all the SUG executives and all faculty presidents and we shall release a comprehensive statement after,” Animasaun said.
According to Daily Trust, the increment varies from faculty to faculty, said by a student of the institution. Mass communication students that pay N10700, would now pay N23000 while those in the Faculty of Agriculture would pay N40000 instead of N17000.
However, the Students Union Government of the institution has issued a statement asking the students not to pay the new fees.
