
Prof. Omolola Mojisola Atalabi, Pediatric Radiologist at the University of Ibadan (UI) College of Medicine has been appointed as the first Head of the newly established Special Duties Unit (SDU) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
The creation of the SDU by the Chief Medical Director of UCH, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo is to boost service delivery in the teaching hospital. The new Head of the Unit is expected to report directly to the CMD.
The terms of reference of the unit include security, staff welfare, environmental health, patient liaison, alumni, inter-professional relations among others. A welfare sub-unit is to run under the SDU.
Atalabi, who is the President of the African Society of Radiologists and a former President of the World Federation of Pediatric Imaging, had her primary education in Akure and Oshogbo, Secondary education in Akure and Edinburgh, Scotland. She had her MBBS from the University of Ibadan (UI), in 1989.
