University Of Abuja Gets New Deputy Vice Chancellors

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja at its 50th extra-ordinary meeting recently has approved the appointments of Prof. Clement Barikuma Innocent Alawa and Prof. Sani Muhammad Adam as deputy Vice Chancellors (academic and administration) respectively.

The Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Rifkatu Hosen Swanta, who issued a statement said the approval followed their election by the Senate of the institution and their appointments were effective from last month which will last for a period of two years in the first instance.

The new deputy VC academics is a professor of Animal Production and a graduate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The professor was born on the 11th of January 1961, in Bodo-Ogoni, Rivers state.

The new deputy VC administration, Prof. Adam, was born on the 2nd of March, 1966 in Jos. He graduated from Bayero University, Kano in 1991 with a Bachelor of Laws degree and holds a master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Jos in 1996 and 2006 respectively.
