The University of Benin, popularly known as UNIBEN will from the 24th to the 26th of September 2018 host the world as its Centre for Gender Studies (CGS) for its 4th international conference. “Gender Empowerment for Sustainable National Development” is the theme of the 4th conference.
According to Prof. Evelyn Edosomwan, the centre’s director, the opening ceremony will feature a keynote by senior team manager, Africa program of the Open Society Justice Initiative, Human right activist and former chairman of National Human Right Commission in person of Prof. Chidi Odinkalu.
The amazing conference will attract academics from different institutions of higher learning, political office holders, policy makers, gender rights advocates, non-governmental organizations and civil societies from within and outside the country. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. F.F.O Orumwense is the chief host of the amiable event.
The conference will feature plenary sessions, gender empowerment workshops, technical sessions and skill acquisition trainings for women.
