The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has won this year’s edition of the Masters’ Round Debate Tournament, the fifth in the series which was held at the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
UNILORIN had won the 4th edition of the competition last year at the same university. This year’s tournament, which held between March 29 and April 2 with over eighty participants from nine Federal universities in the country, saw UNILORIN posting remarkable performances in the two categories of the intellectually-engaging competition.
The UNILORIN Hybrid Team Beetles, consisting Usman Ojone and Eze Nwakuba, eventually won the competition for the third consecutive time.
The second category of the championship code-named Public Speaking Stream, featured six students of UNILORIN. Two reached the final stage and Olayemi Samuel won the trophy for the team.
