UNIZIK Seeks For New Vice Chancellor

Alhaji Azeez Oladotun Bello, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state, has inaugurated the ‘Search Team’ for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for the institution.

Reports revealed that the tenure of the incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, would come to an end on the 3rd of June, 2019.

The Search Team members include; Godwin Agu as Chairman, Prof. Ikemefuna Uzochukwu of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dr. Cordelia Ebenebe of the Department of Animal Science as Senate Representative.

Others include; Prof. Vivian Nwogbo of the Department of Educational Management and Policy and Mr. Chinedu Achufusi of the Ekwueme Centre for Multi-Disciplinary Research as Congregation Representatives while King Ezediaso Anyichie is the Secretary/Registrar’s nominee.

The team is charged with the identification and nomination for consideration, suitable persons who are not likely to apply for the post of the Vice Chancellor on their own volition because they feel that is it not proper to do so.

The team would also ensure that such persons so identified turn in their applications on or before the deadline for submission of applications.
