The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof. Joseph Ahaneku has tashed the newly inaugurated Students Union Government (SUG) to ensure they set a new feat capable of outshining the achievements of the out-gone executives.
The VC who commended the out-gone executives on a job well done during their regime, encouraged the newly elected executives to emulate them, while improving on their lapses.
The Vice Chancellor gave the advice during the inauguration and swearing-in of the newly elected executives of the union which was held at the Leadership Centre, Students’ Affairs Unit of the university.
He warned the students to be wary of their involvement in the upcoming 2019 general elections, advising them not to engage in any form of thuggery or allow themselves to be used by politicians, remarking that they should shun anything that would spoil the image of the university.
The VC promised to always make himself available to the students whenever he is needed.
Joseph Okafor who is the new SUG president was sworn in by Chief Judge of the judiciary arm of the union, Justice Godson Obinnaya Agbo.
Okafor is the 27th president of the SUG of UNIZIK.
