The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra state, has concluded plans to go into large-scale commercial production of plastic products.
Professor C.C. Ihuneze, Director of Civil Work Production Process of the institution, disclosed this when the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, visited the plastic plant on a facility tour.
While presenting some samples of the products to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ihuneze said that the plant was ready to go into full time commercial production of quality products.
According to Ihuneze, the factory used a world-class machine in the production of plastics capable of producing 2,000 desired products of different kinds every day. He said the machine could be used to train students in the university.
The Vice Chancellor, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the management and the director of the industrial unit for their dedication towards the actualization of the production plan of the university.
He as well told the management of the plastic plant that the institution would always be committed to ensuring the full commercialization of its industrial units.
