WAEC Releases WASSCE Result For Private Candidates

Olu Adenipekun, Head, National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Nigeria, has announced the release of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, 2019 – First Series, where more than three thousand candidates obtained credit in a minimum of five subjects including English and Mathematics.

He made this public in a briefing on Tuesday at the WAEC National Office in Yaba, Lagos. He disclosed that 6,180 out of the 11,892 candidates that sat for the exam were male, while 5,712 were female.

“On behalf of the Registrar to Council of WAEC, my heart is full of joy, particularly, for the successful conduct of the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2019 – First Series which ended on Monday, February 4, 2019. Thirty days after the conclusion of the examination, I am happy to announce the release of the results.

“For the 2019 diet, 12,202 candidates registered for the examination out of which 11,892 candidates sat for the examination. Of the number of candidates that sat for the examination, 6,180 were male and 5,712 were female, representing 52 and 48 per cent respectively,” he stated.

Adenipekun added that there was an increase in the number of candidates that had five credits compared to the 2018 WASSCE for Private Candidates.
