The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) says result of its ongoing 2019 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) First Series for private candidates will be released in March 2019.
Mr. Damianus Ojijeogu, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos. He said 12,133 candidates registered for the examination.
According to Ojijeogu, the figure shows 3.1% increase over the 11,721 which registered for the maiden edition in 2018.
He also said that the council had made efforts to ensure a smooth conduct of the examination across the country.
The exercise which commenced on the 21st of January would be concluded on the 4th of February 2019.
“It is the belief of the council that the examination officials will go the extra mile to enforce rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination. The council also expects candidates to abide by the rules and regulations. It is only when they abide by the rules that examination malpractice can be nipped in the board,” he said.
