The Rector, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe has commissioned a newly built Diagnostic Section of the Medical Centre of the institution to improve the quality of health service delivery to staff, students and the general public.
While speaking at the commissioning, Omokungbe noted that on assumption of office, the medical center was one of the units he visited as a demonstration of his concern to ensure adequate medical services for everyone, particularly to students of the institution.
He said it necessitated the priority attention to improve medical services in the areas of drug supply, completion and equipping of the Diagnostic Section and provision of basic medical facilities to get the medical center running adequately.
“The T-ship program has fully commenced with three health management office (HMOs) in place for the students. College also has a partnership arrangement with the Military Hospital, Yaba and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
“Supply of drugs have been regular thus, the days of no drug in the medical center is now a thing of the past,” the Rector stated.
The Rector added by saying that qualified and experienced staff has been recruited, though majorly are on a part-time basis because due process is required for the full-time employment of personnel in line with the recruiting guideline of the Federal Government.
