Yahoo-Yahoo Will Destroy Your Live, EFCC Tells Students At UNILORIN

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday, appealed to Nigerian Students to keep away from criminal tendencies capable of jeopardising their future.

Head of the EFCC Zonal Office in Ilorin, Kwara State, Mr. Isyaku Sharu, made the appeal while addressing students at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Sharu stated that the call had become necessary following the increasing pervasiveness of cybercrimes, otherwise known as “Yahoo-Yahoo”, among the youths.

He made it known that many of the suspects currently being investigated for one financial or the others were students of several institutions of higher learning across the country, adding that the commission, would in strict adherence to the laws of the land, stop at nothing in the eradication of the trend.

The EFCC boss said that he was particularly disturbed by the high number of students who were involved in the swindling of innocent individuals and organisations of their hard-earned income.

He urged the students to face their studies religiously and never be engrossed with the get-rich-quick syndrome, which according to him, often propelled the misguided ones into criminalities, adding that the sky could not limit the success of those who were hardworking, honest and law-abiding.
