The Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti will on Saturday, 20th of October 2018, graduate over one thousand students in the sixth convocation ceremony of the institution.
The private institution, founded by Chief Afe Babalola has offered automatic employments to the First Class Graduates, as part of the ways to boost their and commitments in academic pursuit. The school boasts of 72 First Class out of 1042 graduates.
According to THISDAY, Prof. Michael Ajisafe, Vice Chancellor of the university, told pressmen during a press conference that the high turnout of first class graduates was attained through excellent, rigorous and qualitative academic prowess already attained by the university.
“We have disciplined students here and it has always been the culture of the founder to give automatic jobs to first class students and these 72 will benefit from the gesture.
“Today, ABUAD is the only in Nigeria that makes its students go to classes between 8am and 3pm and later 7pm to 10pm. There is no room for indolence here. This will automatically frustrate lazy and indolent students,” he said.
“Apart from handsome prizes being given to brilliant graduates, which includes vehicles and cash gifts, the founder all graduates in the Faculty of Agriculture the sum of N250,000 each to empower them to go into farming. Some are even given parcels of land for farming,” the VC added
