The Bauchi State University Gadau (BASUG) has renovated two dispensaries at Yuli and Mada villages in Bauchi Local Government. The two communities are the hosts to its Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
Reports reveal that the institution also donated drugs and beds to the renovated health facilities.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Auwalu Uba, while speaking during the presentation of the drugs and other items. Said the gesture was to recognize and assist the communities for hosting the university and contributing to its development.
The VC, who was represented by the Registrar of the institution, Aminu Yakubu Gambo, said that the university was concerned with the health and wellbeing of members of the communities and the renovation was part of its corporate social responsibility to them.
Also speaking, Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences, Dr. Mahmud Ibrahim said the university has purchased buses to address the transportation problems faced by students at Yuli campus.
Responding to the kind gesture from the institution, the village head of Yuli, Suleiman Shehu, commended the University for the gesture, saying that before the intervention, the community’s dispensary was in a bad condition.
The village head assured that the community will utilize the donated drugs for the benefit of the members.
