One of the best West African Examination Bodies, NECO (National Examination Council) has promote a Science and Technology competition for Secondary school student to help to build interest in the study of science in schools.
One of the Explorer of Spak, Mr Oladapo Ojo, at the program he attended recently, said: “Spak is a science based television quiz show that is aimed to rekindle interest in Science and Technology which is perceived as difficult to study. And its has gotten the support of the National Examination Council (NECO).
In his speech, he further say that “the initiative will not only create an enabling environment for the growth of science and technology in Nigeria, it will also play a major role in placing the Nigerian student on the same pedestal with their mates across the world.
To participate in the science and technology competition, interested schools are to register six of their most intelligent students in sciences, irrespective of sex, religion, tribe or state of origin, for the first round of the competition.
In the Spak competition endorsed by NECO, 10,000 Student will be allowed to compete from 2,000 schools in Nigeria, Where only Eight-One of them i.e the student will promote to the next round of the competition. The best of the best are picked irrespective of their state of origin, gender, religion and so on.
Schools are encouraged to register to participate in the competition.
