The Vice Chancellor of Anchor University Lagos (AUL), Prof. Joseph Afolayan has urged the students of the institution to give priority attention to reading and studying at all times.

The VC gave the advice during his Investiture as the Vice Chancellor at the third matriculation ceremony of the university.

He told the matriculating students that the university years are very important and core formative part of their adult life, imploring them to make the best of the opportunity. He boasted that the institution has a very ambitious goal of becoming one of the best five universities within the first ten years of its existence in Nigeria.

“With the result of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis of the last two years, we shall focus our energies on uncompromising academic standards and excellent research activities, promotion of creativity among our students through strong mentorship programs, improving the university finances through innovative fund-raising activities, establishment of entrepreneurial center for work-and-study opportunities amongst others.

“Our vision is seemingly bold. So, it will take us all, it will take this entire community to take Anchor University to greater heights through commitment and passion. To dream anything less is to short change our students, our community and our nation and we can’t do that,” the VC stated.
