Buhari Commissions KWASU’s World Standard Library

President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the State-of-the-art Library in Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete.

The President also charged the Governor of the state, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, to ensure that a competent successor take over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Na’Allah AbdulRasheed.

 

Findings made by campusbiz reveals that the library, which has been named after President Muhammadu Buhari, was commissioned in honour of the facilitator, the VC of the institution, who was appointed 10 years ago.

 

The Federal Government project funded by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) at the whooping cost of N3 billion, is of two split buildings of six storeys fully equipped with an awesome aesthetic architecural design.

The President, in his address at the commissioning ceremony, called on all Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities to design policies and programmes that will have a direct bearing on the host community.

 

Buhari, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, decried the improper use of TETFund high impact fund on less relevant infrastructures by some universities in the country.

 

He also explained that it was not possible for universities to achieve competitiveness without having a good library and therefore urged all university managements to ensure all their projects are of good quality.

 

Earlier in his address, the outgoing VC commended TETFund for the support given to the institution and also appealed fore more funds to enable the university to equip other sectors.
