Igbinedion University Set to Introduce Additional Courses

The Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo state is set to commence three additional programs to the existing programs in the university.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye made this known on Saturday at the 16th convocation ceremony of the university.

According to the VC, the new courses are; Contemporary Security Studies, Gender Studies and Climate Change.

He said the university was now running 29 degree programs, accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) under the seven colleges of the university.

The institution’s Chancellor, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, also said it was heart-warming that graduates of the university were excelling in their chosen careers. He expressed optimism that the present set of graduates would give good account of themselves as products of the university.

According to NAN, 739 graduates were awarded degrees in various disciplines, while three distinguish personalities were conferred with honorary degree which are the former Ghanian President, John Mahama, Chief Dan Orbih, Edo state PDP chairman and Olowu of Iwo in Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi.
