The Kano University of Science and Technology is set to establish new faculties in the university as part of efforts to serve the educational needs of the society.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Shehu Musa disclosed during the inauguration of three committees assigned with the responsibility of designing the modalities for the take off of the new faculties.
According to a statement signed by the deputy registrar of the institution, Alhaji Saidu Nayaya, which was made available to pressmen, the new faculties are; Faculty of Medicine Science, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science and Faculty of Veterinary Science.
Musa said that with regard to the Faculty of Medicine, arrangements are in top gear for the core teaching hospital to be located in Wudil town adding that the Chancellor of the institution, Aliko Dangote has already promised to intervene in the area of the construction of a teaching hospital.
The VC assured the committee that the institution was solidly behind them and also charged them to diligently discharge their assigned tasks.
