Madonna University Nigeria will on Saturday, 10th of August, 2019 graduate no fewer than thirty-eight First Class graduates as the institution is set to hold its 16th Convocation ceremony.
The university will also be celebrating its 20th anniversary having been in existence since 1999 as Nigeria’s pioneer private university.
According to reports, the 38 First Class graduates will be part of the 1,365 graduating students who will receive their first degree certificates of the institution.
Prof. Chuks Ezedum, Vice Chancellor of the university, disclosed this during a press conference at the university campus, saying that a total of 427 will bag Second Class upper division, 393 will bag Second Class lower division, 142 Third Class and three with pass degrees.
He disclosed that the immediate past VC of the University of Abuja, Prof. Michael Adiukwu will deliver the convocation lecture titled “Re-positioning the Nigerian Educational System for National Consciousness, Unity and Economic Development”.
According to the VC, the Special Guest of Honour will be in person of Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), who will as well commission some of the newly completed projects at the Elele campus of the institution.
Prof. Ezedum decribed the university as a special gift to Nigerians among the committee of the universities in the country, saying that it has the potentials, dynamics, and unique features that can turn the fortunes of Nigeria around.
