The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reviewed its mandatory orientation exercise aimed to empower, enhance and encourage Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) amongst corps members across the country.

The developemnt was made known at the 2019 Batch ‘B’ pre-orientation workshop forum by NYSC managers and the collaborating partners to review previous orientation courses aimed at tackling identified challenges while mapping out fresh strategies for successful conduct of the forthcoming exercise.

In his welcome address, the Director-General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, explained that the choice of the theme of the workshop titled “Reinvigorating the NYSC Orientation Course for a Successful Service Year”, was borne out of the desire to sustain proper induction and preparation of eligible graduates for dedicated and hitch-free service to Nigeria.

He revealed that NYSC is working round the clock in ensuring a successful conduct of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ orientation course across the country.

The Director-General commended the efforts of the Lagos State Government in its approach towards success of the orientation course in the state.

“The partnership of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund with NYSC aimed at providing start-up business capital for corps members who have undergone the SEAD training is a welcome development,” the DG stated.
