Open University To Meet NYSC, Legal Education Council On Recognition

The Governing Council of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has said that the institution will discuss further with the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Council for Legal Education in Nigeria.

The development is on the need to recognize graduates of the institution for youth service and the attendance at the Law School.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Peter Okebukola, told pressmen after the council’s 54th meeting which was held in Lagos that the council was indeed grateful for the signing of the NOUN Amendment Act.

According to Okebukola, the subsequent gazetting will give further recognition to graduates of the university.

“With this recognition, NOUN is placed at partially with all recognized universities in Nigeria under various Acts that amended the provision of higher education in Nigerian universities,” Prof. Okebukola stated.
